Cookies and local storage

Summary

Kurate currently uses only storage that is needed to provide the demo experience: an authentication session cookie where sign-in is enabled, plus local browser storage for interface state. We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies.

Essential session cookie

Authenticated deployments use a cookie named kurate_ui_session to keep approved users signed in. It is set after successful sign-in and removed or expired when you sign out. The cookie is configured as HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, and, on the hosted HTTPS deployment, Secure.

Local browser storage

The interface may store small pieces of state in your browser, such as the last query page state, query form settings, active query job identifier, and the last opened report link. This is used to keep the interface usable during navigation, refreshes, and long-running query jobs.

No analytics or advertising cookies

The hosted demo does not currently set non-essential analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking cookies. If this changes, Kurate should add appropriate controls before enabling those technologies.

Your choices

You can clear Kurate cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Clearing them may sign you out, reset saved query settings, and remove this browser's pointer to an in-progress query job.
